When we founded Conversed.ai, the idea was simple but ambitious: build conversational AI that really works. No shortcuts, no half-measures. For the first few years, we built custom AI solutions from Southeast Asia for large multinationals like FrieslandCampina, Danone, Diageo and Abbott, in languages like Bahasa Indonesia and Vietnamese that were not supported by any platform at the time. Well before the advent of large language models, with only NLU, NLP and RPA as building blocks. We really had no idea then that we would ever be where we are today.
And yet. In 2026, we may go before the 4th time saying that we are part of the Emerce Top 100, after previous listings in 2021, 2022 and 2024. But what touches us most is not the list itself. It is you, our customers, who voted for us.
From Asia to Europe, from chatbot to AI Agent
One year before the release of ChatGPT, we made a strategic pivot to Europe. We had connected early with OpenAI and were among the first to see that the market was fundamentally tilting. Companies and consumers who had disliked chatbots for years suddenly began to embrace them. But with that opportunity also came a challenge: large language models are powerful but difficult to control. That's exactly where the core of Conversed.ai lies. A platform that allows organizations to easily train, control, optimize and seamlessly integrate their AI Agents with their existing software.
Today we work with the best large language models in the world: Anthropic (Claude), Mistral as European pride, ElevenLabs for voice and OpenAI (ChatGPT), all running within Europe. Led by COO and Head of Product Sagar Schoneveld and supported by an Advisory Board chaired by Walter Hueber, together with Maarten Elshove and entrepreneur and investor Michiel Mol.
What is the Emerce Top 100?
The Emerce Top 100 is an annual survey by Emerce, the trade magazine for digital business in the Netherlands.
